Costco has 20x30in poster prints for under $10 and in the past I’ve used cheap $25 frames from Amazon, but even at that price it adds up quick. I figured it wouldn’t be too much work to make my own homemade frames since I now have the tools and shop to do so. I already had three prints lying around so this afternoon I made three frames.
For my first attempt I think they turned out nice. The frame is made from pre-primered trim boars from Home Depot; they cost around $3.50 for an 8 footer. I then used a plastic board (its similar to cardboard in build) to support the poster in the frame.
I used a jig to make the frames square. They are held together with wood glue, brad nails and staples.
